TRANSPARENCY
Asking for your trust is cheap. Every platform does it, and they rarely actually earn it.
Because Cosmo is built on and for collective action, we wanted to approach this differently from day one. You can't govern a system if you are kept in the dark about how it runs. If we are asking you to pool your time and money to build this ecosystem, you shouldn't have to just take our word that things are being handled correctly.
So instead of writing a polished PR statement about how much we value honesty, we are just giving you the receipts. We want you to be able to see exactly what is happening under the hood. We don't want your blind faith. We want you to look at the numbers, scrutinize our decisions, and hold us accountable.
To prove we are doing what we say we are doing, we built a Live Financials section. This is a real-time look into the heart of Cosmo’s operations. You can see our balances, upcoming payments, and incoming funds.
We display this in two ways:
Long-term, our goal is to hire trusted, independent external firms to conduct regular audits. And not just financial audits — we want third-party verification on our data privacy practices (like GDPR and CCPA), platform security, and the overall integrity of our voting mechanics and board governance.
But here is the current reality: we are early, and corporate audits are insanely expensive. Spending thousands of dollars of early user subscription money and investement on a fancy audit firm right now is a terrible use of funds. We need that money to actually build and grow the platform.
So, until we can justify the cost of an external firm, here is our bootstrapped solution: Community Audits.
If you are genuinely skeptical of our numbers or how we are handling data, tell us. We will literally get on a video call with you, screen-share the backend, walk you through the system to settle your doubts, and let you report your findings back to the community. When there is a will, there is a way.
If we mess up, or if you think a system isn't working the way it should, we don't want you sending an email to a hidden support@ inbox where we can quietly ignore it.
Your voice is the backbone of our integrity. If you have a problem, drop it in the public Feedback channel. Thats what the social media tooling is for! We want complaints and concerns out in the open so everyone can see them, and so we are forced to address them publicly. That open channel of communication is the only way we keep our standards high and actually evolve.
